African Hospitals Partner with HealthWay to Provide Commercial Air Cleaners to Reduce Infection

Online PR News – 08-December-2014 – Pulaski, New York – Most people think of Ebola when they think of airborne infections in hospitals in Africa, however that is not correct. In very rare cases, Ebola can be spread by very large droplets if someone is very ill with Ebola but for 99.9% of the cases Ebola is not airborne. However, hospitals in Africa are dealing with an epidemic of patients transmitting tuberculosis. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is transmitted in airborne particles called droplet nuclei that are expelled when persons with pulmonary or laryngeal TB cough, sneeze, shout, or sing. The tiny infectious particles can be carried by air currents throughout a room or building.

Hospitals and clinics like University College Hospital Ibadan, St. Ives Specialist Hospital Lagos, Paramount Hospital Ondo State, Ayomide Women’s Hospital, Nordical Fertility Center, and Regenesis Fertility Specialists have all partnered with the Global Leader in medical and commercial air cleaners HealthWay to provide protection from this epidemic that is threatening even the newest and most up to date facilities in Africa.

HealthWay air cleaners utilize a patented air cleaning technology called “DFS” (disinfecting filtration system) that has been proven to capture the smallest size virus particles down to .007 micron surpassing HEPA and ULPA filtration what is commonly used in hospital settings today. HealthWay's latest commercial innovation gives the hospital complete control of the environment by filtering all of the air entering the building or by diffusing better than HEPA air right at the point of use. Further, HealthWay's patented technology utilizes less energy than traditional HEPA Filtration or ULPA filtration reducing the burden of energy consumption most hospitals face do to filtration needs.

Vinny Lobdell President of Pulaski based HealthWay recently stated, “What makes HealthWay different from the competition is our understanding that not all indoor environmental problems are the same and each must be looked at and evaluated before customizing a solution to meet the real need of the customer. Our new commercial line of air cleaners gives the clinic or hospital many options providing the highest level of ultrafine particle filtration in the industry." He further added, "Our systems also use less energy than that of a HEPA or ULPA system, reducing the annual operating and maintenance cost of the filtration system, saving most hospitals thousands of dollars a year."
